Safety & ethics
A prank, not a nightmare.
A good joke is one where everybody laughs at the end, including whoever picked up. The rules are simple and we enforce them.
Off limits. Period.
- Harassing, threatening or intimidating anyone
- Discriminatory or hateful calls
- Pretending to be the police, a public authority or emergency services
- Anything illegal
One violation = immediate account suspension.
What the AI does
- It keeps things light: never threatening, never mean
- It hangs up with a joke if the person gets upset or asks it to stop
- It never goes past 2 minutes
These rules are in its instructions, on every call.
What we expect from you
- Be 18 or older
- Pick people close to you who have a sense of humor
- Reveal the joke at the end, and laugh about it together
- Own it: you are responsible for the calls you make

Questions people ask us.
Is it legal?
PrankCall AI is made for fun between friends. Harassing, threatening, intimidating, hate speech or pretending to be a public authority or emergency service is strictly forbidden by our terms and gets your account suspended. You remain responsible for the calls you make.
Is the AI really convincing?
It doesn’t read a recorded script: it listens, reacts to what the person says and improvises in real time, in a natural voice. Every call is different.
How long does a call last?
Two minutes max. The AI hangs up on its own when the conversation wraps up, or sooner if the person gets upset or asks it to stop.
Can I listen to the call again?
Yes. Every call is recorded: you’ll find it in your history, where you can play and download it. Recordings may also be reviewed for moderation.
What is test mode?
Before calling for real, you can talk to the character yourself from your browser to check the scenario holds up. No phone call is made. A try costs 0.5 credits (refunded if the conversation doesn’t start) and lasts 2 minutes max, with up to 5 tries a day. You need an account.
Which languages?
The site is available in English, French, Spanish, German, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch and Polish. On the phone, the AI speaks the language your scenario is written in (English, French, Spanish, German and more), then adapts to the language of the person it calls.
Which countries can I call?
45 countries and territories: France and its overseas departments, Europe, North and South America, part of French-speaking Africa, India, Japan and Australia. 1 credit = 1 call to most countries; 2 or 3 credits to some destinations (shown before the call). The full list is in the phone number selector.
Do my credits expire?
No. Unused credits stay on your account with no time limit. They are not refundable. 1 credit = 1 call to most countries (or 2 tries in test mode); 2 or 3 credits to some destinations (shown before the call). If nobody picks up (or the line is busy), your credit comes back. Voicemail or silence counts as an answered call: the AI hangs up right away, but the credit is used.
Can someone ask not to be called anymore?
Yes. Any number can be added to our do-not-call list: just email contact@bxlabs.ai.
